Rewards, points and referrals
StartupOS has a referral programme. Invite someone, and when they start using the platform, you both get points.
Points are paused on mainnet right now. You can still share your code and redeem a friend's, and nobody loses eligibility. No points are paid while the pause lasts.
Points and holder rewards are separate
The Rewards page holds two different features:
- Referral points, covered on this page. Points have no cash value.
- Holder rewards and the weekly lottery, which pay out in a token's pair currency to people who hold tokens with a holder tax. On mainnet they run for tokens launched since October 18, 2026. See Holder rewards and the weekly lottery.
Referrals never affect holder rewards, and holder rewards never add points.
The one thing to understand
Redeeming a code earns nothing on its own. Points are paid when the person you invited makes their first real transaction. Until then, the code only links the two of you.
| Step | Who does it | Points paid |
|---|---|---|
| You share your code | You | None |
| They enter your code | Them | None |
| They buy, sell or launch a token | Them | Both of you |
The reward is for bringing in someone who actually uses StartupOS.
Your code
Open Rewards, connect your wallet and sign in. A 7-character code is assigned to you automatically, so there is nothing to request. Copy invite link gives you a link to share. Anyone who opens it lands on Rewards with your code already filled in.
Codes leave out characters that are easy to confuse, so there is no 0/O or 1/I/L mix-up when you read one aloud.
Redeeming someone else's code
Enter it on Rewards under Got a code from a friend?, or in the Have a referral code? field in Settings.
- You can redeem one code, once. After that, the field is replaced by a note showing the code you joined with.
- You cannot redeem your own code.
- Unknown codes are rejected.
What counts as a first transaction
Whichever of these happens first:
- A completed buy or sell.
- A token launch that confirmed on chain. Starting a launch is not enough; the transaction has to land.
Approvals, sign-ins, comments, watchlists and profile edits do not count. Neither does a launch you started and never confirmed.
The order does not matter. While points are running, if you traded before entering a code, the points are paid the moment you enter it. You do not have to transact again.
What you earn
| Event | Points |
|---|---|
| Someone you referred makes their first transaction | 1 to you |
| You make your first transaction after joining with a code | 1 to you |
StartupOS sets these amounts and can change them. The table shows the amounts while points are running; on mainnet they are paused right now.
It pays once per person you refer. Their second trade, and every trade after it, earns nothing further. Points do not expire, and any number of people can use your code.
Referrals are the only way to earn points today. Trading and launching trigger the referral payout, and earn no points on their own. If nobody referred you and you referred nobody, your balance stays at zero. StartupOS can also correct a balance by hand.
What points are for
Today, points rank you on the points leaderboard and show on your Rewards page and in Settings. You cannot spend or redeem them, and they are no claim on anything. If that changes, this page will change with it.
The leaderboard
The Points leaderboard on Rewards lists everyone with a positive balance, ranked by points. First place gets a crown instead of a number. The Referrals column counts how many people joined with each person's code.
The main Leaderboard page also shows a Points tab once anyone has points. It shows the same data.
Your history
Points history on Rewards lists your points events, each with its reason, so you can always see where your balance came from.
Older accounts may see entries from an earlier version of the programme, which paid larger amounts when a code was redeemed. Those points are still yours and still count.
